Internship Placement for Fall 2026 Term

Location: 551 King Street, Fredericton (In-person or Hybrid)

Number of placements: 1-2

Salary: $18 /hour

Hours per week: Flexible (part time OR full-time co-op)

Placement Duration: September - December 2026

Department: Social Development (SD)

Placement Description: As a student of the Internal Audit team and reporting to the Manger of Audit Services, the successful candidate will assist the team with various audits and ad hoc assignments.

Responsibilities will include: providing support to caseload investigators and internal auditors working to increase efficiency and decrease risk within the Department of Social Development. The student will perform data entry, data analysis, evaluation and interpretation of evidence, with full support from the branch. This role is not public facing; rather, the position will work in-person (or hybrid) with the team and learn to use the department's systems.

This role offers an opportunity for skills development and hands-on experience. The student will deepen Excel knowledge and professional writing skills to contribute capacity to the team's goals. The student will work collaboratively with the internal audit team and gain insights on different services within the department.

Need to have:

  • Language requirement: English
  • Currently enrolled in a postsecondary program including Business Administration, Business, Finance & Management or Accounting, or other related program

 

Nice to have:

  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • Analytical thinking/judgement
  • Knowledge of and interest in accounting
  • Written communication skills
  • Willingness to learn
